Life Paradigms, Inc. was created in 1996 and received its non-profit 501©3 status in April 2000. The organization was created for the purpose of educating and empowering women and girls mentally, emotionally and spiritually, and to create an awareness of the importance of personal and social responsibility. The mission of Life Paradigms, Inc. is to implement positive change in underserved communities through the intellectual/educational, emotional and social development of women and girls.  Through Life Paradigm's programs, they learn to recognize their responsibilities to their families, their communities and themselves.

Three key initiatives for Life Paradigms, Inc. are (1) Leadership Development (2) Health and Healing (3) Education and Training.  These are accomplished through the implementation of programs and productions that have been sponsored by the City of Phoenix, Arizona State University, Maricopa Community College District, Maricopa County Sheriff‘s Department, Arizona Commission on the Arts, Chase Bank and Glendale Public Libraries. 

The following programs have impacted over a thousand families:

 

  • Rites of Passage Programs - a culture and leadership development program for at-risk youths 
  • Journey Home: An Arts Experience for Incarcerated Women
  • Sistah Circle - a monthly talking circle for women of all seasons

Life Paradigms’ productions have reached over 50,000 participants.  They include the following special events and productions:

  • The Gift" -  a celebration of America's racial, gender, ethnic and religious diversity, toured nationally for Chase Bank as part of their diversity initiative
  • "The Seventh Song" - a multi-media, multi-cultural production featured at Phoenix Symphony Hall
  • "The Art of Healing" - a cross-traditions healing ceremony featured at Phoenix's Orpheum Theater
  • The Art of Healing: The Journey Continues” - an interactive healing sanctuary featuring artists from a variety of cultures and healing arts genres
  • She’s So Ghetto: Chronicles of a Ghetto Girl Gone Goddess - a one-woman show
  • "This Bitter Earth” – a full length motion picture soon to be released
  • Blueprint for Womanhood : Reinventing Ourselves at Every Age – A Symposium for teen girls and women
